Ransomware Attack Causes Major Business Disruptions

A recent ransomware attack has caused foodservice supplier Edward Don to shut down portions of its network to mitigate and contain the attack. Business disruptions to their phone systems, network and email have resulted in employees being driven to use personal Gmail accounts to communicate with customers regarding business matters and order fulfillment.
While the attack has not been publicly disclosed at this time, Bleeping Computers has reported that employees have stated they cannot accept new orders until systems are back online.
With more frequent ransomware attacks on supply chains causing considerable disruptions to organizations and their critical infrastructure, it is crucial that businesses remain vigilante in protecting their business networks and sensitive data.
