IT Services

Eleven of them. You probably need two.

happier IT provides eleven IT and cybersecurity services to Canadian organizations of roughly 15 to 200 people in Alberta, British Columbia and Ontario: managed IT, co-managed IT, IT support, cybersecurity, managed security services, cloud and Microsoft 365, backup and disaster recovery, compliance and risk management, technology integration, AI readiness and automation, and IT strategy.

Most organizations need one ongoing service and one project, not the whole list. This page groups them by what you are trying to fix, so you can find yours without knowing our vocabulary first.

Not sure which

You do not have to work it out first.

Nobody arrives knowing whether their problem is a support problem, a security problem or a strategy problem. Quite often it turns out to be a process problem with a technology-shaped symptom, and the honest answer is that you do not need to buy anything from us at all.

So the first step is a 30-minute call, or a free IT assessment, 45 minutes of looking, and a written plan you keep whether or not you ever hire us. If a service on this page is wrong for you, we would rather say so on the first call than eleven months into an agreement.

If you would rather read first, the resources hub has our IT cost calculator, the cyber maturity model and a plain-English glossary of every acronym on this page.

Questions

What people ask before they pick one.

What services does happier IT offer?

happier IT offers eleven services: managed IT, co-managed IT, IT support and helpdesk, cybersecurity, managed security services, cloud and Microsoft 365, backup and disaster recovery, compliance and risk management, technology integration, AI readiness and automation, and IT strategy. Most clients take managed IT, which already includes support, security basics, backup and planning, and add one or two of the rest. We serve Alberta, British Columbia and Ontario.

Do we have to buy all of it?

No. Managed IT is the one that bundles the day-to-day, helpdesk, monitoring, patching, backup and planning, into a single monthly fee, so most people who want everything handled start and stop there. Everything else on this page can be bought on its own, and several of them are projects with an end date rather than an ongoing commitment.

What is the difference between managed IT and co-managed IT?

Managed IT means happier IT is your IT department. Co-managed IT means you keep your own IT person or team and we work alongside them, usually taking the overnight monitoring, the specialist security work and the holiday cover. The test is simple: if there is already somebody internal whose job this is, you want co-managed.

What is the difference between cybersecurity and managed security services?

Cybersecurity is the set of protections you put in place. Managed security services is somebody watching them and responding when an alert fires. An MSSP, a managed security services provider, is the second thing. happier IT runs its own security operations centre in Canada, staffed by our own employees, rather than reselling another company's monitoring platform.

What do these services cost?

Ongoing services are priced per user, per month.happier IT's guide to managed IT pricing in Canada. Project work is fixed-price after a scoping conversation. Every service page on this site has its own cost section.

Where does happier IT provide these services?

Alberta, British Columbia and Ontario. Support and monitoring are delivered remotely from Canada; on-site visits are arranged where you are. If you are outside those three provinces, say so on the first call and we will tell you honestly whether we can serve you well.

Can you work with our existing IT provider?

Yes, and it happens often, usually as co-managed IT, where we take a defined slice such as security monitoring or cloud work and leave the rest where it is. We will not go behind another provider's back, and if the assessment says they are doing a good job we will tell you that.
