IT Support & Helpdesk
On-Site IT Support
Someone there, when it needs hands.
On-site IT support is a technician coming to your workplace for the jobs that cannot be done down a wire: failed hardware, cabling, a new office, a move, or an install that needs someone standing there. happier IT provides it alongside remote support for organizations of roughly 15 to 200 people.
Who it's for
When a visit is the right answer.
Most issues are genuinely faster to fix remotely. These are the ones that are not.
Hardware that has failed
A laptop that will not power on, a dead switch, a server that needs a disk. Remote access does not reach a component that has stopped.
Anything involving cable
New desks, a partition wall, an access point in the corner that has never worked. Network faults are often physical, and finding them means being there.
A new office, or a move
Network, phones, printers and access, all working on the first morning. A fixed date, which deserves a site visit well before it.
Someone who would rather have a person beside them
A senior hire, a nervous handover, or training that lands better face to face. We treat that as a legitimate reason.
What's included
How on-site work runs.
A visit should be planned, useful and short, not a technician arriving to diagnose from scratch.
-
Remote first, honestly
We attempt the fix remotely because it is usually quicker for you, and dispatch when it is not. A visit is not better service, only a different problem.
-
Scheduled visits
A regular half-day or day on site, agreed in advance. Useful where small physical jobs accumulate.
-
Callouts for the unplanned
When something has failed and remote work cannot resolve it. You are told who is coming and the expected window before they set off.
-
New offices and relocations
A site survey, a cabling and network plan, equipment ordered against the date, and someone present on the first morning.
-
Cabling and physical network work
Structured cabling, patch panels, switches, access points placed by survey rather than by eye, and labelling.
-
Written up afterwards
What was done, what was replaced, what is outstanding and what we recommend next. In the ticket, in plain English.
How it works
What happens when a visit is needed.
Three steps, and the first is often where it ends.
-
We try to fix it without travelling
A remote session you approve and can watch. A good share of issues end here, which saves you both the wait and the callout.
-
We schedule with the parts in hand
We agree a window, confirm building access, and make sure the replacement part is on the van. One prepared visit beats two hopeful ones.
-
We close the loop
The work is written up and the ticket closed. Anything recurring goes to the quarterly review, because frequent visits usually have a fixable cause.
What it costs
Where we attend, and how visits are billed.
This is the section most providers keep vague. Ours is specific where we can be, and openly marked where it is not yet.
happier IT works across Alberta, British Columbia and Ontario. On-site attendance is not the same as service coverage, and the honest answer is: We attend on site across British Columbia and Alberta, and we can get to sites beyond them.
Ask any provider three questions before signing. Which addresses get a technician in person. What the travel arrangement is beyond a given radius. And whether on-site hours are included in the monthly fee.
Support is normally part of a per-user, per-month managed IT Project work such as an office fit-out is quoted separately, always.
A visit is not always the fastest help
Waiting until Thursday for a technician is worse service than a remote fix in twenty minutes, and we will say so rather than dispatching to look attentive.
Where a visit is faster, we go.
Why us for this
The technician who arrives works for happier IT.
On-site work is where subcontracting is least visible and most consequential. Whoever attends your office should know your environment and answer to the same team that answers your calls.
We respond in minutes, not hours, and tell you then when somebody can be on site. Support and after-hours coverage: 24/7, with the Surrey office on Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Pacific.

Questions
What people ask before they sign anything.
Where do you send technicians on site?
We work across Alberta, British Columbia and Ontario, and on-site attendance depends on the address. The specific answer is We attend on site across British Columbia and Alberta, and we can get to sites beyond them. Ask us about your postal code before you sign.
How quickly can someone attend?
It depends on priority, distance and whether a part is needed, so the useful answer is a target rather than a promise. We respond in minutes, not hours, and give you the attendance window on that call. When comparing providers, ask what the target is at each priority level. An SLA, a service level agreement, is worth reading closely, and our explainer sets out what a useful one says.
Are on-site visits included in the monthly fee?
Support visits and project work are treated differently, and the line should be written down before you sign. Project work, a fit-out, a cabling installation, a server move, is quoted separately.
Can you set up a new office?
Yes, and the earlier you tell us the better it goes. The work runs from a site survey through cabling and network design, lines ordered against the move date, equipment procured, and someone on site the first morning. What causes trouble is never the technology, it is lead times.
Can our staff get help without waiting for a visit?
Yes, the helpdesk is the main service and on-site is the exception. Your team reaches a technician by phone, email or the portal, and most issues are resolved in that first contact. Details are on the IT support and helpdesk page.
