Three Million Affected by Unsecured Cloud Storage Data Breach

Recently cyber security researchers came across a misconfigured Amazon public cloud storage resource belonging to the senior care review site, SeniorAdvisor. One million files and 182GB of unencrypted data exposed personal data of more than three million people on the unprotected cloud storage. Researchers stated that no password or login credentials were required to access the data, which included: names, emails, phone numbers and dates contacted.

While SeniorAdvisor claims that the breach has now been secured, the worry is that any exposed data could lead to further phishing attempts and scams, especially since the list is made up of information for senior citizens and those close to retirement.
